This little group was inspired by a recent visit to Copenhagen, where some of the house facades in the old town were painted in beautiful shades of ochres, reds and greens – a delight for the eyes.

This little collection, which is called “a scatter of cushions” was woven over the summer with no particular theme in mind (other than the two weave types). It was only when they were all placed together, I realised what the theme was. The colours that are around me as I go about my daily life here in Amsterdam, the way the sun shines on a canal as I cycle past, or the way light reflects off a painted door. All done unconsciously – a sort of osmosis.
